Al Adan Hospital Surgical Department

Is one of the biggest general governmental hopsitlas in Kuwait, of total 600 bed capacity. It was built in 1981 to provide medical health services to Al Ahmadi region. Kuwait is divided to 5 medical health areas. Al Ahmadi is located south of Kuwait and it has a population of about 600,000 people In 1992, a new area was founded, called Mubarek Al Kabeer medical health area which is also covered by Al Adan hospital. Surgical Department: One of the main departments in the hospital with a total of 90 beds divided into male and female wards. There are 10 theatre sessions per week and 24 hour emergency theatre. The department is recognized by the royal college as a teaching department since 1985. We have firm contact with the faculty of medicine to teach medical students as well as train postgraduate surgeons.
The department recieves emergency and elective cases. Variety of general surgical and urology procedures are performed through open and laparoscopic approaches.

What is a Neuro-Ophthalmologist?
Neuro-ophthalmologists are doctors who specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of visual problems related to the nervous system; that is, visual problems that do not come from the eyes themselves. Neuro- ophthalmology, requires specialized training and expertise in problemsof the eye, brain, nerves and muscles. Neuro-ophthalmologists often diagnose conditions which are related to the optic nerve or the nervous system and sometimes related to a general medical condition. Some of these conditions include stroke, multiple sclerosis, myasthenia gravis, and pituitary tumors.
Some of the common problems evaluated by neuro-ophthalmologists include: optic nerve problems (such as optic neuritis and ischemic optic neuropathy), visual field loss, unexplained visual loss, transient visual loss, visual disturbances, double vision, abnormal eye movements, thyroid eye disease, myasthenia gravis, unequal pupil size, and eyelid abnormalities. General ophthalmologists, neurologists, and neurosurgeons often seek the expertise of neuro-ophthalmologists in diagnosing, and treating many of their patients. Dr Behbehani also practices general ophthalmology and oculoplastic surgery. He performs cataract surgery, lid procedures such ptosis and blepharoplasty, and orbital procedures such orbital fracture repair and orbital decompression for thyroid eye disease.

October 13th, 2002 was a monumental day for Al-Sayegh Clinic, on this day we opened our doors to the public. Across the serene sea waves of the gulf were a group of doctors with a dream. A dream to provide the latest medical technologies and affordable superior medical services to the people of Kuwait was born: a dream to transform the private sector in Kuwait. On October 13, we started our family-owned clinic as a single floor in an old residential building on the sea side of Manqaf, Kuwait. We soon learnt that Medical care in Kuwait was changing; there has been strained pressure on the governmental sector, and we realized the future will be in the hands of the private sector and medical insurance programs. Henceforth, we will ensure you an exceptional experience by working together as a family with patients and community members. We are continuously developing and enhancing our facilities to accommodate the needs of our patients. We aspire in creating an environment where each employee is a member of a team, where each others interest is aligned with our own. We started as two clinics: a Cosmetic-dermatology clinic and a Diabetes one. By 2004 we moved to our present medical center where we were successful in providing the majority of the medical specialties with the supervision of an elite group of medical professionals. We promise ourselves and our patients we will do our best to keep up the standard of medical services to International standards, using world known protocols for diagnosis and treatment options and upgrade theseservices to the best we can.

As per now, the cosmetic dermatology clinic consists of 3 consultants and a team of 12 nurses, 5 beauticians and 4 admin officers working 6 days a week from 9 am to 9 pm. There are 7 Laser machines covering all the different possible fields of Cosmetic Dermatology: including laser hair removal, fine hair removal, tattoo removal for ALL colors, Rejuvenation of face and neck, laser liposuction, laser tightening, Nano laser techniques, fat transfer. The list is endless and we are updating and upgrading our services day by day. There more than 18 types of chemical peels and 99 Mesotherapy techniques for different parts of the face and body. The Diabetes Care Center is considered by all means the leading one in Kuwait. It is the ONLY place where the patient can find all what he needs under the same roof. The center works as a one single team covering all the different aspects of diabetes care. Three expert Diabetologists who are guided by the latest protocol of American Diabetes Association ADA provide the patient and his family with all what he/she needs. Services include diagnosing New cases, evaluating
the function of the pancreas, installing Continuous Glucose Monitoring Sensors to diagnose and evaluate the difficult cases of repeated hypoglycemia, unexplained uncontrolled and brittle diabetes, examination of the peripheral nerve affection, Fundus photography to diagnose the earliest eye affection, the food clinic diagnose , treat and prevent foot complications. The Diabetes center at Alsayegh clinic was the first place in Kuwait to start Insulin Pump installation and
with more than 300 pumps installed in Kuwait, you can imagine whatkind of experience we have and what the quality of service we provide is. The Eye Lasik surgery center provide in-site Lasik operations,diagnose, photography and treat Diabetic retinopathy cases. The Argon laser application treats diabetic retinopathy and glaucoma. In addition, there are many other services provided like optometry, visual field measurement and minor operations. Other clinics include Ear, Nose and Throat Clinic (ENT). the gynecology and obstetric, Pediatric clinic, Dental clinic, Urology and Andrology clinic, Cardiology clinic and the Family Medicine.

The Medical Laboratory is fully equipped with the latest fully computerized machines and it is internationally accredited and it is calibrated locally, internationally and maintains the highest quality standards. Different departments include chemistry, hematology, bacteriology and hormonal testing. Radiology department contains 2 X- ray machines for routine radiology and barium studies and 4 different ultrasound machines for ALL the diagnostic purposes with a portable
unit for diagnosing patients of the Home care. To complete the circle of service, the pharmacy provides all our patients needs with different classes of medications and highest quality cosmetic products.
